Building Your Community
I hold a firm belief that our faith is not something that we can keep all to ourselves. I believe that we first need to work on developing a deep personal connection with God to find our purpose in this life. But I also believe that we can find that purpose by connecting with the people around us!
One of my favorite pieces of scripture reads:
Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
Hebrews 13:2 NIV
As a mom of three kids, I quickly learned that raising them really does take a village. I need help, even if it is for nothing more than a break to go to the bathroom! But more importantly, the community of mothers I have in my life has helped make me a better mother. They have helped me to understand that I am not the only one who feels the way I feel. And they encourage me to be the best that I can be.
But I realize that it is all too easy for us to fall into our routines and not reach out and connect with each other. That sometimes it's just easier to stay home than to go out. And that sometimes it easier not to get involved than to help.
I believe that our journeys are enriched by those that are all around us so I wanted to provide some inspiration on easy ways to reach out and connect with each other (even when you might feel like doing nothing else!)
